It's interesting following the details in this story. Wyden and Sarbanes are Progressive, Democrat operatives that have congressional webpages. Plaskett Meadows CG was a minor challenge to find on Google Maps and Earth. According to the Mendocino NF website, it's closed due to a series of fires over the past few years. If you plot to a point of around 2 miles east, using the measuring tool on Google Earth, there is a clearing on the edge of a burn scar that looks like you could land a helicopter there. It looks like a very hilly, forested 2 mile hike that would take an hour or so. Upon reading this on RRN, I initially thought of Bohemian Grove type ritualistic debauchery. Bohemian Grove is located about 100 miles southwest near Monte Rio. Type in Plaskett Meadows CG on Google Maps and it shows up.

Then my mind wafted back to the movie Race With The Devil from 1975. The two couples were on their way to a ski holiday and stopped somewhere in Texas for the night. They witnessed a satanic, ritualistic sacrifice across the river, were pursued and murdered by the demonic cult.

Kind of makes you not want to be out in the woods at night. Just sayin!
