In Response To: CGI's andie531: To: kbcjedi - Reference to Tesla by Ayn Rand? (CGI_admin)

I have never read that anywhere, but I had always wondered where she came up with both the idea of limitless energy....and also Project X. I can imagine Ayn Rand being drawn to an individual such as he.

Even if there were absolutely no corroborating evidence which there might not be, if I based my opinion upon the characters in her book my imagination alone tells me this would be an intriguing possibility.

As for her being on the dark side, i find that very hard to believe. It is against every value she held dearly to her soul.
Which side is creating Project X and is immersed in statism, the likes of which Ayn Rand abhors? We have seen the rise of LRADS, along with other various technology that will not be used for the good of mankind, but other nefarious purposes.

Ayn Rand was not a God. She was human and has human failings just like the rest of us. Thank GOD for the internet, or we would be just as much in the dark as Ayn Rand might have been about the true players. She denounced Alan Greenspan before or perhaps when he turned to the dark side, I remember reading about in on one of her older books...but I cannot find the quote on the web. And I cannot remember which book it was that she described the falling out between Alan Greenspan and herself. She didn't give the details, but made it clear that Alan Greenspan was her arch nemesis at that point. And it was before he was ever appointed to ride herd over the dollars demise.

Personally I think the "objectivists are somewhat cult like. You cannot take her ideas and create a religion out of them, and I think that is what happened. Ayn Rand was anti Christian, but that did not make her ideas worthless. What a sad thought. That very thought that she is somehow to be discounted because she was not a believer is to me, anti Christian. It leaves absolutely no room for mistakes for the rest of us. I mean why bother, if you have a thought that is not a purely Christian thought then you should be, what...disregarded by the human race?

I think Ayn Rand wrote incredible books, and her real life was not nearly as perfect as her imagination of what could be possible.

: "The answer to who is John Galt is Nikola Tesla. Tesla
: was a contemporary of Ayn Rand who lived in New York at the
: penthouse of the New Yorker hotel. John Galt was the man
: who created the free energy machine, similar to
: Wardenclyffe Tower (1901–1917) also known as the Tesla
: Tower, was an early wireless telecommunications tower
: designed by Nikola Tesla and intended for commercial
: trans-Atlantic wireless telephony, broadcasting, and to
: demonstrate the transmission of power without
: interconnecting wires."

: Reference? Where does Rand mention Tesla?

: BTW, JP Morgan, as I recall, screwed Tesla royally to the
: point that he ended up living in poverty and his inventions
: were put in the closet somewhere (or stolen and
: developed/used in secret? - reference: William Lyne's
: books)

: Rand would have probably idolized Morgan and cronies the same
: way she idolized the dollar.

: also: "What if the world was not going to end tomorrow?
: What would you do? Would you feel let down?"
: -----
: Most of us are trying to prevent that. You think we all have
: some sort of death wish?

: also: "9-11 has been neutralized we are now firmly on a
: positive reality track."
: -----
: Tell me the people lining up for swine flu shots, or who are
: all gung-ho for war with the Muslims are on "a
: positive reality track".

: and: "She grew up during the bolshevik revolution."
: ------
: And one of her biggest blind spots was not seeing that
: Bolshevism was financed by Wall Streeters (read Antony
: Sutton's research) who were all Jews. Her attacks on
: Christianity, without any counterbalance to the culture/
: religion she was brought up in, point to her Jewish
: prejudice. Her entire philosophy smacks of Talmudism.
: Didn't she ever think it odd that her entire inner circle
: was Jewish?

: Murray Rothbard, whom Rand excommunicated, wrote a couple of
: interesting essays on her:
: and one on the sociology of the Ayn Rand cult:

: The funny part was that, Alan Greenspan, who didn't get
: excommunicated (as I recall) went to become head of the
: Federal Reserve. The Fed is the biggest parasitical hoax
: ever foisted on the US. If Rand was truly "a lover of
: America" as you state, she would have at least seen
: the folly of the Fed. Greenspan invited Rand to his
: swearing in. I'm sure she was more than happy to attend.
: Rothbard wrote "The Case Against the Fed". Go
: figure. Who in this trio do you think had a better grasp of
: "reason"?

: Her movement qualified as a cult on many grounds. Her stuff
: basically leaves me cold.

: There are, however, a number of points I would agree with her
: on. I am not going into those, but hell, even Hitler has
: some points I agree with.

: Her childhood may be partly fabricated - no one to my
: knowledge has ever looked into her story about her parents,
: her father's business, or whether they indeed were put out
: of business by the Bolsheviks.

: Her first husband was no John Galt. The guy was a bit actor
: who had a gift for flower arranging. I'm thinking maybe
: gay. My opinion: he needed a "beard", she needed
: a permanent visa, so they had a quickie marriage in
: Tijuana. If you only have sex as an expression of your
: admiration for an "ideal man", then she was in
: this case, a "whim worshiper".

: She falls short of her own "wisdom" in many
: respects. Her following is still cult-like - e.g. steeped
: in unreality. I have a problem with that.
