When the mandatory BYLAW passed by our Calgary Mayor Nenshi (only 2 cities/towns in Alberta did so ) I complied. After an incident at my local grocery store where I nearly passed out from lack of air ... I stopped and continue my NON compliance til this day.
Since then NO one save for two persons has said a peep. The two wh did say they wanted a mask ... I said I have had previous health issues regarding ANXIETY due to feeling I cannot breath, this would trigger an actual Asthma attack which would then exacerbate the asthma and enhance the anxiety ... hence a vicious circle. Without meds for either ... I ended up in emergency many many times and they couldn't find a damned thing wrong with me. Ativan was prescribed for the anxiety and ventolin for asthma.

Both were bad for me .... Ventolin hard on the heart ... Ativan highly addictive. (tranq)
After many many many years ... I managed to deal with it on my own without meds.
After Covid mandatory masks it started COMING back ... imagine that !!! After my 1st near passing out I freaked ... major anxiety but luckily no asthma attack. I am a heavy smoker as well and I am pretty sure I am in early stages of COPD.

Luckily so far here in Alberta ... I have not been HARASSED for not wearing and I intend to keep on this path.
I ain't goin back to my past where I end up in emergency twice a week for panic attacks or asthma. If ANYONE brings it up ... I state medical exemption and no questions are asked after that.
I usually volunteer my situation and they seem to be fine with it. And like I said earlier ... Only 2 people have said "hey where's your mask and then .... I say .... and then I also engage them with mild banter about Covid and how it's a big overblown issue and most agree ... a good sign.

Still I see very very FEW people who REFUSE to mask up. It's very very disappointing and I look round at these IDIOTS and just shake my head. And here's the kicker ... the folks I do see NOT masking are mostly NON-Whites ... a few Latino's but mostly Africans/Blacks. So ya most of non compliers are immigrants here where I live. It seems I'm the only white guy who is saying NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!!
