Oscars extraordinary talents in mechanical engineering and electrical mathematics also made the elder Schneider a highly prized prisoner of war.
Oscar Schneider was brought to the US, given a new official background identity, a new official life history, and recruited to work on a deep state military project that involved the 'electronic cloaking' of warships and aircraft, making them optically invisible to the naked eye, and invisible to enemy radar.
The project Oscar Schneider was 'recruited' into, became known later as "The Philadelphia Experiment", as the research and experimentation carried out specifically involved the Navy battle cruiser USS Eldridge, stationed in the Philadelphia shipyards at the time.

The younger Phil Schneider, the geologist, had a close friend and confident named Al Bielek.
The common thread between Bielek and Schneider was that Bieleks father had also worked on the USS Eldridge, along with Phil Schneiders father Oscar, at the time the Philadelphia Experiment took place.
