When I logged onto the Weather Channel just before I snapped these photographs, the site said that the outdoor temperature in my area was 37 degrees F. Either scientists are dead wrong about the freezing temperature of water, or the Weather Channel was underestimating the air temperature in my city.

During late fall, I watch out for the first sign of squirrels who forage as they climb the trees in my back yard. When they appear, I anticipate a change in the weather. I recently spotted a squirrel about a week ago when the daytime temperatures were about 10 degrees warmer than today.

Usually when there's freezing temperatures outside, there are small patches where frost doesn't form on my neighbor's roof, but today was an exception. The back yard hot tub was half-covered in frost.

The weather forecast calls for a continuous stretch of rain over the next week, so I bought fresh produce and other grocery items this morning in preparation. Being that it's Black Friday and lots of folks are taking advantage of online bargains, traffic at my nearby grocery store was very light.
