The definition of the term all-knowing:

Yep, that just pretty well sums it up, especially the synonyms.

For some strange reason this concept of all-knowingness, in conjunction with the vague and nebulous term God, seems to elicit variously justified feelings of humility, modesty, humbleness, meekness, diffidence, un-assertiveness, reverence, veneration, adoration, and other such stuff in the larger majority of people at the marginally conscious contemplative level.

Mysterious indeed, in view of the obvious.

For convenience of conversation and because I type very slowly let us incorporate any and all concepts, constructions, convictions, depictions, ideas, terms, fantasys and whatever additional descriptors might come to mind, including the Santa Claus syndrome whereby you experience that inscrutable feeling out at the edges of your awareness that you are being spied upon, into the term All, a nice easy package to work with.

So, the All-Knowing.

Imagine, if you will, that you are locked in a dimly lit room with nothing to do with a capital N. Or imagine that your I phone doesn't work; whichever is the most terrible. Now multiply that by some number of days that you can't possibly imagine.

How bored would you be? Seriously.

Good. Now multiply that degree of boredom by All and think about that harder than you have ever thought about anything. It might occur to you that you, at this point, you just might be willing to trade everything for one brief instant in hell just to escape the All-Boredom, and maybe trade a lot more time if you had that at your disposal.

All Started, All Finished; All Questioning, All Answered; All Desiring, All Satisfied; All Doing, All Done; All Been There, All Done That; All Nothing Left; All Bored; All Scream and Pull All Hair Out; All Wish Could Die but can't because All Living, All Everlasting.

There are inherent drawbacks to All-Knowingness.

Fortunately there is an easy workaround which is simply -not- All-Knowing and which does not require any alteration to All at all.

Not-Quites. Small apertures of insufficient scope to encompass the All of it. All-Knowing, when focused through the lens of multiple Not-Quites, effectively separates the All from the Knowing while simultaneously retaining the Sum of All-Knowing. In the measure that All is removed from Knowing so also is All removed from Bored and the less All Hair is Pulled Out.

One might conclude that Not-Quites are the salvation of their Creator which makes each and every one them All-Valuable, even All-Priceless and especially so if each Not-Quite is unique with its imperfections.

All-Knowing is simply trivial. But you are not and that little presence tagging along out at the edge of your awareness is not Santa.
