That's one way to look at it. :) However, many people were prepared to believe Ford because she was emotional. If Kavanaugh had not shown emotion, some people would have read something into that, too. :)

That aside, I think Trump's call for a mini-investigation will likely not find anything objectionable about Kavanaugh but might turn up a fact or two about Ford, and since the Democrats were calling for this, they'll have to live with whatever it produces.

It does appear that the Democrat strategy was to delay the confirmation till after the mid-terms, in hopes that by then they'd have enough seats in the legislature to block it entirely. Acceding to a call for "full investigation" would have played into their hands in that regard. Bear in mind, Kavanaugh has already been vetted in full six times before now.

I watched the whole scope. Judge K should have only said under oath that he did not do what his accuser was saying and the FBI, CIA, NSA, and Homeland Security should check all his footsteps and he is not in a hurry to have the Supreme Court job because he already have a job and he is well respected.

For him to cry and sweat and read his CV and made himself look like a flawless angel that came from the Throne of God, made him more of a suspect rather than being innocent.
