The Other School in Dunblane, Scotland
by Mary W Maxwell, LLB

In 2006 Sandra Uttley published her clear and concise study of the incorrectness of the Cullen Inquiry into the shooting of 5-year old children in Scotland by (supposedly) Thomas Hamilton. Uttley’s book is called “Dunblane Unburied.” I have not done any new research, but others have and I will report that here.

A British journalist Tim Minogue had, prior to the Dunblane mass murder, attempted to get legislation requiring members of the Freemasons to declare their membership if they were a parliamentarian or a judge. This seems to me a good idea.

I recommended similar in my 2011 book, “Prosecution for Treason.” When President George W Bush was asked about his fraternity, Skull and Bones, he said he was not allowed to discuss it. That’s OK for any American, thanks to First Amendment rights. I mean a member for Skull and Bones can be as silent as he wishes but a law should prevent him being elected. No talkie, no White Housie.

Journalist Meets Housemaster

Tim Minogue’s aforementioned efforts in the UK, regarding Masons, caused a man named Glenn Harrison to contact him after the 1996 tragedy. Glenn had been Housemaster, from 1989 to 1991, at the Queen Victoria School -- QVS -- a “top-notch” military school in Dunblane (not the Dunblane Primary School, DPS, where the children died.)

During his years as Housemaster, Harrison saw two problems: the bullying of boys by other boys, and the practice of wealthy adults – “toffs” -- taking a boy or two home for weekends. The Housemaster also felt sure there was sexual abuse occurring but he never witnessed it and I will leave it out of this article.

The issue discussed in this article is not the bullying or the sex abuse – Australia’s Royal Commission has established beyond doubt that such practices are a feature of many boarding schools and military cadetships. Rather I will emphasize the brick wall that two indefatigable men hit when they contacted officials. An absolute brick wall.

The efforts by both Harrison and Minogue will be described below, but in regard to my own selfish interest in this case, I want to emphasize the following points:

Main Points

1. The Housemaster and his wife, looking out their window, could see that flashy cars would arrive to take the boys out for weekends and that the boys would return “looking distressed but with a lot of money.” The owners of the flashy cars were a veritable Who’s Who of society. Many individuals were recognizable to him. Others at the school called these persons “the friends of QVS.”

2. No amount of effort on the Housemaster’s part could elicit any interest from the responsible parties, be they the school’s hierarchy, the local police, the judiciary, or parliament. (Note: “devolution” took place later, in 1997, whereby some of the UK parliament’s control over Scotland devolved to a home-based parliament in Edinburgh.)

3. After a while, journalist Tim Minogue found that his own letters to the police, in pursuit of the problem of Queen Victoria School – QVS -- had caused the police to open an investigation of him! The colossal gall of it! Minogue mentions that England’s premiere pedophile, Jimmy Savile, was prone to telling would-be complainers that this is what would happen to them if they complained about his abuse of boys.

How It Helps Us Understand

My interest in this is connected to my concern about the horrendous part of recent history known as MK-Ultra. I don’t mean there was anything happening in Dunblane of an MK-Ultra nature (kids being tortured as part of mind-control). But it sheds light on the way in which directives come down from a secret group at the top. Do we really know who thought up MK-Ultra?

The QVS Housemaster’s story is about as revealing as you can get. Glenn Harrison’s frustration was much like that of Victorian Police Detective Denis Ryan’s in Mildura, Australia in the 1980s. Ryan got nowhere when he tried to stop the molesting of boys by a priest.

As I have said, in my book “Deliverance!”, I don't agree with Ryan that the police were motivated by a need to protect the Church, and I don’t think even the bishops’ silence was based on protecting Holy Mother Church!

No. It is more like the QVS scene. Ryan discovered that one of his colleague-cops in Mildura worked for ASIO (Australia’s intelligence agency). I ask: Do ASIO members realize whom they actually work for? I think Dunblane shows they work for the toffs (British slang for the upper class). Neither the US nor Australia has an equivalent word; I think we should add ‘toffs’ to our working vocabulary!

For whom did the CIA perform the unbelievable sins of MK-Ultra? The first director of the CIA, Allen Dulles, had previously been in the OSS. The letters O-S-S are supposed to stand for Office of Strategic Services, but its nickname was “Oh So Social”. In other words, the upper class – in America, the bluebloods? -- were all supporting that organization (headed by Bill Donovan).

Australia’s 2013-2017 Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse did not express an opinion on a toffs sort of thing. However, it eminently paved the way. At least we should consider it. Whistle blower Fiona Barnett says she was at a child sacrifice at Sydney University in the 1980s that was attended by "high society.” In Sydney!

Exhaustive Efforts by the Housemaster

Recall that Housemaster Glenn Harrison’s time at QVS was 1989-1991, well before the 1996 Dunblane (“Hamilton”) killings. But even in 1989 the Housemaster had seen Thomas Hamilton on the Queen Victoria School campus. And Hamilton was friends with another Housemaster, Ben Philip, who lived in the flat under Harrison’s.

Harrison had found Hamilton wandering around the dormitories at night and complained about it to the school’s authorities. Which is not to say that the Housemaster focussed on Hamilton in particular. Recall that one of the main foci was the bullying of boys by other boys (very like what we heard from the Royal Commission about the Perth WA training ship, the HMAS Leeuwin – rough stuff).

At first Harrison kept his complaints in-house. Then he told the Central Scotland Police at the Stirling office. But those police said the QVS was under the Ministry of Defense, and “the Official Secrets Act.” The Housemaster then tried the Regional Council Social Works, no luck. By June 1991 he felt he had to quit the school, which required giving one term’s notice.

Thus at the end of his employ, on December 11, 1991 he wrote to the parents of his 57 boys and warned about bullying and abuse. Then a stone was thrown at his window. Being frightened, he reported this to police. While he was at the Stirling police station, the local police knocked down his apartment door with a sledgehammer and took some of his papers. When he returned, the school’s Bursar and police watched while he packed and escorted him out of QVS.

Once he was situated in a new job, at Baltasound, Harrison wrote more letters, this time to the Secretary of State of Scotland and to the patron of QVS, the Duke of Edinburgh. Nothing came of it but then the killings at Dunblane Primary occurred, on March 13, 1996. When Thomas Hamilton’s face was shown on TV as the killer, Glenn Harrison immediately recognized him.

Tim Minogue Also Contacts All the Proper Persons

Now for the efforts made by UK journalist Tim Minogue once he had met the Housemaster and made sure the Housemaster’s story checked out. He wrote an article entitled “Saville isn’t the only obnoxious paedophile being covered up by the system,” which was posted on 25 October 2013 at the website DunblaneExposed.info. I will quote Minogue directly to convey the earnestness involved:

“[I wrote] to those legally responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the pupils in a private boarding school, the board of governors, which in this case of Queen Victoria School were Her Majesty’s Commissioners. The head commissioner is an ex-officio post held by the Secretary of State for Scotland.

"I wrote to my MP, the late Rachel Squire and asked her to ask the then Secretary of State, Mrs Helen Liddell (Baroness Liddell of Coatdyke), if she was aware of any group such as the ‘Friends of QVS.’ [I said] that The Housemaster had given me credible anecdotal evidence of child abuse and claimed that Thomas Hamilton was one of a group known as the ‘Friends of QVS.’

“My MP would not take on my concerns and suggested I contact the Secretary of State directly. Ireplied to my MP stressing the seriousness of the allegations made by The Housemaster and copied the letter to the then Secretary of State, Mrs Helen Liddell. By a return e-mail I was told by Mrs Liddell that this had nothing to do with her, as the matters I had raised “are devolved to the Scottish Parliament” and my letter had been forwarded to my MSP Scott Barrie!

“I responded to the Secretary of State’s ‘palming-off’ of my enquiry to my MSP by pointing out that she could not shirk her responsibilities as a Chief of Her Majesty’s Commissioners, which were invested in her by Royal Warrant, and in any case her claim that these matters were now devolved could not be considered as devolved matters, as they related to events that pre-dated devolution.

“A reply to my letter was eventually sent to me by the Head of Home & Social Division of the Scotland Office who stated that the Secretary of State’s role at QVS was ‘purely formal’ and I should write to the Chief Executive/Headmaster of QVS.”

Tim Minogue did not get any satisfaction, and found the officials to be unaware that Hansard had contained information about the Housemasters complaints. So he widened his search this time writing to: the headmaster of the school for the years 1989-1991 and all the commissioners at that time (something like a board of trustees). He also write to Lord Cullen (ahem) and Lord Robertson (ahem, ahem) whom the Housemaster had repeatedly said were visitors to the school.

In his first letter to them, Minogue politely asked only if they knew of a group called “The Friends of the QVS.” No, no one knew. So then he sent a letter with three questions: 1. Did they know anything of Thomas Hamilton’s presence and influence at the school, 2.or of a group, Friends of QVS, who would take boys away for weekends (imagine the headmaster not knowing that!) and 3. Did they know of the allegations of bullying and abuse?

Following that, Minogue simply used the Internet to search the Dunblane Inquiry and found that three persons had said under oath that they knew of a Hamilton connection to the school. Grace Jones Ogilvie, a neighbour of Hamilton, said she knew of him taking his boys’ clubs camping at Loch Lomond and at the Queen Victoria School. Ian Steven Boal said that his friend Hamilton had got him a job at a QVS summer camp. Robert Mark Ure who lived across the street from Hamilton said his estranged wife had been at the firing range at QVS with her friend Hamilton.

Did Minogue get anywhere with the Ombudsman? No because the police are one of the exclusions from the list of whom he can investigate. He did find in 1993 Hansard that the Chief Inspector of Schools had carried out an inspection, and that information about the matter had appeared in Scottish newspapers in 1992 – only the matter of bullying, not abuse, and not the letter Harrison had sent to parents.

Lord Burton

A most interesting contact Minogue made was with Lord Burton, and in fact the contact was initiated by Burton. I quote Minogue again (from the same article from which I am drawing all this information, at dunblaneexposed.info).

“Lord Burton knew of my contact with The Housemaster and he phoned me and wrote to me several times and we had an exchange of views. I found him to be a pleasant, and I believe a decent man, but he was over-keen to protect his organisation and blamed the Speculative Society clique in the judiciary, and the police for a cover up ‘at the highest level’ of the Dunblane tragedy.

"He told me that a Scots Tory Law Lord and member of the Speculative Society had pounded his fist on his desk in the House of Lords to emphasise that he [Burton] should let the matter [Dunblane] drop.”

Later, Minogue revealed that Burton had told him that the man who had bullied him to stop asking questions was Lord Fraser of Carmylle. Minogue kept the confidence of that at Burton’s request until both Burton and Fraser were deceased.

One of the persons to whom Minogue wrote was Lord George Robertson of Port Ellen. It is interesting to note that the reply came back from Lord George on NATO letterhead. (Note: most of the “lords” mentioned in this article are, I think, Scottish law lords, i.e., judges, not members of the House of Lords.)

There were even more efforts made to reveal that odd things were happening at this military school, and to let anyone know that Thomas Hamilton was not a complete loner, as the media portrays him. But I don’t see any point in listing them. The bottom line is that no official at any level would cooperate in the matter.

I conclude, for the moment, by saying how amazing is the loyalty, or the fear, or – could it be – the acceptability of these devilish things to a large number of our fellow humans. I also can’t get over the extent to which judges are in on it. How can there be a functioning independent judiciary when judges belong to secret societies?

Help!
