As I indicated in my original post, Trump may or may not have referred to other countries as "sh*tholes". He must have said something though, and admitted that he used strong language, to give Durbin the impetus to run tattle like a scolded and resentful child as soon as the meeting was over.

No doubt Durbin, who has been one of Trump's strongest critics, was resentful after he was told that the disingenuous plan hatched by himself and RINO Lindsey Graham was dead on arrival. If they thought Donald Trump was going to be suckered into such a deal, they surely learned differently and left the meeting with their daubers down and some tailfeathers singed and missing.

It is worth noting that Durbin apparently has a history of lying about things that were said in private White House meetings. In October 2013, Durbin wrote in a Facebook post that a House Republican leader treated then-President Barack Obama disrespectfully.

“In a ‘negotiation’ meeting with the president, one GOP House leader told the president: ‘I cannot even stand to look at you,'” Durbin wrote at the time.

The problem, according to no less a source than Obama’s White House spokesman, was that it was untrue.

“I looked into this and spoke with somebody who was in that meeting, and it did not happen,” then-press secretary Jay Carney told reporters at the daily briefing.

Carney reiterated the point when asked a second time: “My understanding is that, again, from a participant in the meeting, that that didn’t happen.”

It is also worth noting that two Republicans who attended the meeting with Trump, Georgia’s David Perdue and Arkansas’ Tom Cotton, said Friday they do not recall Trump making the remark. An so far no one else who attented the meeting of 5 Republicans plus Durbin has said that Trump made the remark either.

It would not surprise me at all to see Trump work to turn the narrative, at least partially and among his faithful, to the how the criminal Clintons raped the people of Haiti - and there are plenty of Haitians who will agree.

Besides his naddengly disconcerting history of stepping on good news and momentum, Trump also has a history of time and again turning aside and/or survivng disasters that would have spelled doom for just about any other politician. I cannot even count the times that I was almost certain thet Trump had doomed himself during the Presidential campaign. And yet here is is - still the President and, even if ignored by the media and against all odds, making impressive accomplishments for America and its citizens.

One thing is for sure, Trump surely does have a way of driving the media narrative, hysterically Trump-hating as it is. Almost no one is talking about the trashy tabloid book that seemed certain to dominate the news for weeks to come only a few days ago.

Buckle your seat belts and hold on, ladies and gents - the Trump Train rolls on, even if it often seems more like a wild roller coaster.
