I should log and index every website I visit but I can't.
I have read a number of articles on the net that strongly suggest that the threat of an EMP are GREATLY EXAGGERATED. The effect is determined by size and distance. Apparently the militarys have devices that produce a local EMP without the need for a fission explosion for local battle use.
I am also having doubts about the real existence of nuclear weapons as people have pointed out inconsistencies in the nuke films. Have you at all wondered why the fissionable material at 95+% purity can sit for decades on top of a rocket and stay as cool as a cucumber while 5% pure material is a melt down hazard in a power plant? It does not compute.)
A multimegaton device exploding 200 miles up puts out a number of frequencies of pulse. Only a few affect LONG power lines. Local distribution lines have a lot of protection and the cascading protection would dissipate the pulse to ground before much possible damage gets to distant homes. I have no idea what happens directly under the explosion. I have read that unplugged devices and automobiles will be largely unaffected. I do have nearly forty years experience as an electrician and worked with 14,000V local distribution all the way down to PLCs in industry.

I am not dismissing the effects of EMPs. I have some spare electronic parts in a Faraday cage which is a metal garbage can that is lined and nothing touches the sides and is grounded.

If there is an event that is claimed to be from an EMP, it is most likely to have come from the bowels of the U.S. Corporate government to justify a war with the designated enemy of the day.

Governments get most of their power from keeping its subjects in a state of fear.
