Obama used to have a policy that if you were an illegal alien in the United States and you were attending a demonstration, a form of his pseudo-religion of community organizing, you would be protected from being picked up by ICE. That way he could encourage illegals to demonstrate for their “rights” without the fear of self-identifying and being arrested. Whether that rule is still in effect or not, clearly the arrest of Daniela Vargas was tied to her rally appearance, so the impact on other illegals may be the same.

Moments after she continued in her new hobby of immigration agitator at a news conference, ICE agents took her into custody. It happened on Wednesday morning in downtown Jackson, MS. She had been speaking at an event that was hosted by local immigration lawyers, churches and the Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance.

The purpose of the event was to bring attention to the situation of illegals impacted by ICE deportations. With Vargas now being held without bail, and on her way to South America, that impact is going to be very real. Way to get your message out and take one for the team, Daniela.

The 22-year-old Vargas, who was brought to the US at the age of 7, was once protected by an Obama DACA permit. She made the mistake of letting it lapse without being renewed, making her once again what she was all along, an illegal alien in America, but now subject to deportation as a visa overstay.

Vargas had dodged the deportation bullet once, having hidden in a closet when ICE arrested her brother and father in February. She was ultimately discovered by agents who handcuffed her but then released her. She wasn’t smart enough to count her blessings and keep her mouth shut. She had to go rub the agents’ noses in it.

Vargas told the Clarion-Ledger newspaper that since her brother and father had gotten picked up, she has been in hiding and planned to go back underground immediately following the press conference. The old moth to a flame got her, those bright lights and celebrity were just too much to resist.

As Vargas was being driven away from the news conference by a friend, ICE agents pulled their vehicle over. According to her lawyer, the agents told her, “You know who we are, you know what we’re here for.”

She said that before the events of Wednesday she planned to move out of state with her mother and pursue a career as a university math professor (of course you would pay for her college). She can still realize her dream. Argentina is 'out of state' and they have 'math' also. One plus one is two, so take your illegal mom with you.
