In fact, since 90% of an iceberg is already in the water, only 10% of the iceberg is above water. Now, you would think then that this means 10% of the iceberg volume might increase the volume of the ocean, when melted. However, even that is wrong.

When water freezes it expands in volume. The weight of its mass remains constant. An iceberg sinks consonant with the weight of displaced water versus its own weight.

Therefore, the water displaced is the same amount that will be displaced once the iceberg melts. Therefore whether the iceberg melts or not is totally irrelevant, the sea level will not change at all.

However, fear not, here is a suggestion for what to do with the iceberg, the size of a State:

Put a shack on it and declare it to be the District of New California. This will give it statehood status similar to the District Of Columbia. This will follow the vision of Barry Goldwater, who once asked if it was possible to saw off the state of California and let it float away in the ocean. It would provide a sanctuary for all types of illegals. Since there would be no work there, it would be also a version of Utopia. There should be no laws there prohibiting drugs. There will be no pollution, no abuse of trees or other natural plants. There will be only natural views. SJWs welcome. BLMs welcome even though the countryside is not black. Nazis, Socialists, Communists, and Fascists welcome. Election whiners welcome. And for this, I think the US government ought to provide disaster relief...free koolaid.
