It certainly is not an understatement to say that you should be careful on New Year's Eve, especially when out partying and ringing in the new year.

Several concerns to keep in mind are: It's best not to get intoxicated and become under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, especially in any public place. Also, just being at a private party does not necessarily guarantee your safety. In addition, no matter how careful you are on the roads and highways it does not necessarily mean you are safe from other drivers who may be reckless or intoxicated.

If you must go out to celebrate on New Year's Eve you should remember it is one of the worst times of the entire year to be on the road. Try to arrange for safe, sober driving instead of reassuring yourself that you are good to drive after consuming alcoholic drinks. This means you should predetermine what the costs of Uber drivers or taxicab fares will be, remembering that at peak hours such transportation may require long waits if available at all.

However, in the event you wish to consider avoiding drunks, dangerous drivers, DUIs, financial ruin and/or death or hospital stays it might be well to JUST STAY HOME on New Year's Eve. The world will go on even though you don't participate in the revelry. You could even awaken in the new year without that horrible hangover, sober and ready to begin a new and prosperous time in your life.
