The above information reminds me of a prophet who predicted wonderful things on a certain day, and when it didn't come true the prophet blamed the people's lack of faith, blamed the unbelievers, blamed the naysayers.

To blame non-believers, to blame a lack of faith, to blame naysayers, and to blame people who hold contrary thoughts for a failed "prophetic" event is usually THE LAST STRAW of a fallen prophet who quickly loses his congregation (as in the fallen jailed prophet, Warren Jeffs, of the polygamist cult near where I live).

At some point in a failed event and certainly in repeated failed events you would think people would realize their mistaken hope, belief and faith and move on.

I suspect some cult members will believe to their dying day.
