Hello everyone, Well it is true that all hams have their locations on file with the govt. However, those may not be up to date. There are many ways to think about this. First and foremost, ham radio is the fall back mode of moving messages if the internet and phone services goes down for ANY reason.

Avoiding a ham license for the reason cited in the article would make no sense as all phone companies can tell authorities your whereabouts
of you last call. Whatcha gonna do about that?

Many hams are aware of the state of the world and all that is mentioned here on RMN. Many are not. However, there are many ways to maintain contact via the ham bands than a home station. There is mobile stations in one's car or truck. There are back packs with battery operated transceivers with fold up antennas which can be used and then moved. In Colorado there is a network named The Colorado Connection. It is a chain of VHF repeaters all over the state. When one repeater is keyed up, all of the network repeaters key up. So? Well, you can talk to others on the Colorado Connection and no one has to mention where they are. Is there backtracking installed on that find which repeater you were hitting? NO. With no phone or internet one can still contact other hams located in Colorado. Other states have similar networks but not all.

Bottom line, when push comes to shove are we going to face the aggressors or cower in the garage or basement. How will you locate sources of food, water and like-minded individuals if we are living in a black out?

Since the govt can already find you whether you are a ham or not, become a ham. On good days, it's great hobby and my best friends are hams and they also share love of aviation.

Much to say, but fear, when are we gonna stop letting fear rule us. As soon as we get some gonads, the ruling elite is in dire trouble just due to the energy shift. Get up and meet the challenges head on. That's my advice. Better to die fighting the good fight, than just slinking off somewhere and hoping someone else wins the battle for you. Grow some balls folks. We are the ones' we are waiting for.
