Ernie's Restaurant, San Francisco's Finest, Closed Because of Gangs - What it Looks Like, 2010 - The Price of Sanctuary Cities

One of the finest restaurants in San Francisco years ago was Ernie's which appeared as a recreated studio set in Alfred Hitchcock's famous film, 'Vertigo'.

Several years ago this editor had read.that Ernie's was closed due to gangs or gang activity. It had closed and then reopened and then, closed permanently sometime in 95-96. Those articles containing the mention of gangs seemed to have been scrubbed or aren't immediately visible. A photo of what Ernie's looked like more recently in 2010 can be found at:

Owners Victor Gotti was 73 and his brother Roland was 70 when they closed, so age may have had something to do with the closing in 95.

This editor did not have time to go and see the historically significant spot when driving through S.F. in the mid-2000's. The thing that crosses the minds of many must be: "just how expensive will America's sanctuary cities eventually become?" People are sometimes killed nowadays because someone thought they were a rival gang member. UGH! America, still today, loses great heritage and tradition and classic features to accommodate.......foreign-born puppet president and......gangs

Ahhh....to have dined at Ernie's of San Francisco!
