Here is a truly excellent free program which can revolutionize and organize the way you keep notes and bits of information including active links (i.e. bookmarks) to pages on the web.

The program is called "Rightnote" and there are three versions of it including the "Basic" version which is absolutely free to download and use.

Frankly, I tried to make this post several times before but I love this program so much I got all bogged down in describing it (and practically trying to write a manual) so this time I am just pointing to it and saying "try this".

Very simply it allows you to keep all kinds of notes and info and links with a hierarchical index which is a "tree" structure just like the way you keep files on your disk as a tree with many branches (folders and sub-folders).

Instead of having various files of notes and info spread all over the place you can have them all in one place and get to anything very quickly. Best way to figure it out is just download it and try it.

You will want to download the installer file called "RightNoteSetup.exe" and run it. It actually installs as a 30-day demo of the full PRO version which reverts to the basic free version after 30 days, so you can try all the features.

(There is also a portable version for putting on a flash drive and using on other computers without having to actually install it on those computers.)

Once you start using it and get the hang of it you will wonder how you got along without it.

After the demo period I upgraded to the $29.95 version and it was one of the best software purchases I ever made.
