ISTANBUL / ANKARA - Turkey urges allies to launch a joint ground operation in Syria because the Syrian regime's army, backed by Russian air strikes, close to its border, and if such a scenario would be to achieve a direct conflict of NATO and Russia.
Large common ground operation of Turkish partners, including the United States, is unlikely.
"We want a ground operation. There is a consensus, Turkey will participate in it. No ground operation it is impossible to win this war," he told reporters in Istanbul Turkish official who wished to remain unnamed.
He added that "Turkey will not run itself unilateral ground operation ... We talk about it with our allies."

Official Washington has ruled out a major offensive.

I do not see any purpose of Turkey it could have there controlling the sea pass from Black Sea to us in Mediterranean except as a large, peaceful, Original Islamic state there, and the member of EU.

Anything else equals to no turkey anymore.
