The Washington Post is reporting that a presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders is coming to Flint.

The spokesperson for the mayor of Flint, Kristin Moore, also confirmed that the debate is happening.

The debate will take place on March 6 in Flint.

From the DNC:

"The candidates have also agreed to participate in three newly scheduled DNC sanctioned debates to be held in addition to the February 11th PBS News Hour, and March 9th Univision debates already planned. The first of these new debates is confirmed to take place in Flint, Michigan on March 6th, with the remaining two taking place in April and May with times and locations to be determined. We will continue to work closely with both campaigns as we finalize the remaining details.

The next debate will take place on Thursday night in New Hampshire.

The others will be held in Pennsylvania in April and California in May.

Hillary Clinton had called for a debate to be held in Flint. Flint has been a focus of both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders because of the water crisis.

Sanders has even called for Gov. Rick Snyder to resign.

Flint's water crisis began in April of 2014 when the city's water supply shifted away from the Detroit water system and to Flint River water. Later, it was discovered that the river water was leeching lead from the aging pipes in the city and putting it in the water. Tests of the children in the city showed that many had elevated lead levels in their blood. In October of 2015, the city switched back to the Detroit water supply, but the water is still considered unsafe to drink.

Now, residents rely on bottled water and water filters provided by donations and the state.
