The story of the Marines got into the Iranian territorial waters is still shrouded in thick mystery. The military and engineers are still analyzing the data from two boats to be able to understand the origin of "technical failure". Americans are addressing the communication failure on the technical fault in the planning of the mission, or a combination of both.

US reliable sources say, it is about an appointment to supply that went wrong.

Indeed, to go from Bahrain to Kuwait, the boats need a refill and the meeting point for refueling was about three miles west of the 12-mile limit (limit beginning Iranian territorial waters), close to Farsi Island. That "both" boats have had technical failure, I doubt, statistically it's really difficult to reach, in the field of probability, this combination.

It could be, however, a wrong planning of the mission. The quantity of fuel boarded, compared to cruising speed held in the mission. This might justify the sudden change of the route - the aforementioned shortcut - but unfortunately the bad luck has dogged and ended on fuel in the sea wrong.
