Adroid Platform - A Really Stupid, Redundant, Non-Progressive Annoyance

If you can picture yourself buying an Android type tablet that should be handier to carry and move about than a laptop, you might, initially, suppose it would be a step ahead in ensuring the capabilities of an extra communication device, but, you could be in for a big let-down. Consider that you'd expect some standard things like the ability to close a browser with a single click. That doesn't come with Android. There are even forums to discuss how to close the browser! Go to home, pull up a task manager, blah, blah, in order just to close a browser?! These Android devices appear to be built to consume time, exasperate users and create dumber consumers!

Many users feel they don't want to simply press a back button to leave a browser due to it possibly staying on cue or running in the background, using more memory, etc.. Isn't this leaning in the direction of removing control of the device and apps away from the user?

If you are not a Google person, and/or if you do not do G-mail like so many sheep, you'd better check which device is or is not for you. Some of these stupider devices push the Google and G-mail stuff. Imagine running into something you had previously considered a non-positive thing, something you'd left to others and moved on from - then encountering it again, complete with big, stupid splash screens. Duh....ummmmm....groan, etc..

Do you really want a camera onscreen taking your snapshot. Some of us have no use for it and it should be an option to remove.

It's bad enough not to have a clearly visible battery indicator, but when the one on the screen disagrees with the actual charge of the battery it is a nuisance! Why don't they, at least, provide an easy-to-see icon somewhere to show when the battery is fully charged!! Groan....groan.

It would be a smarter idea to sell and promote a non-advertiser type of generic tablet which offered the user a simple set of functions not related to the big G, Google, not related to other big advertisers, etc.. It could be a simple device which could tap into the downloads, etc., videos, etc., do some documents, etc., but not be such a pushy, demanding device which cannot even get past the name demand which appears on setup. If a user wishes to call the device whatever he/she chooses, then why the demand to enter I.D. details. Full name? These are not conducive to enabling privacy in a world where people need a great deal more privacy options.

Doesn't it remind you of how the system constantly sells or crams law enforcement and military down the throats of 'We, The Forgotten People'? "You either get it our way or you don't get the S.O.B. cause we own everything, anyway - you included".

Maybe someone should write a new book entitled 'Escaping Google!'
