Mohammed and his followers killed as many people as Hitler did. And you won’t see a lot of white people calling themselves Hitler. But the name Mohammed remains obscenely popular even though he was no different than Hitler.

Like Mohammed Akil.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop’s chief of staff, Muhammed Akil, has decided to resign a week after news broke that 20-years-ago he made racially inflammatory remarks in a speech at a conference in Chicago.

It’s funny how when a white person says something racist, the media describes it as “outrageous” or “shocking”, but when a black person does it, then it’s “racially charged”.

So what did Mo say?

The initial Daily Northwestern story about Akil’s speech ran on Nov. 14, 1995, under the headline, “FMO speaker decries whites.” FMO refers to For Members Only, the university’s black student alliance.

According to the Daily Northwestern, Akil was speaking on the topic “Decoding White Supremacy: Reading Destructive Images.” He slammed white representations of Jesus, calling them the “fa—t Jesus,” the paper reported. He repeatedly called gay people “fa—ts” and blasted Abraham Lincoln as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing,” according to the paper.

He also told the crowd that “all white people have a little Hitler in them,” the paper said.

Only a little? Mohammed is a moderate.

While we’re harassing frats over minor pranks, maybe it’s time to look at the level of crazy racism harbored by some black groups on campus.

Akil holds a powerful position at City Hall, where all the city’s department heads report to him. He earns $120,544 annually, one of the highest salaries for a civilian city worker.

Maybe Mohammed has a little Hitler in them too. But Mayor Fulop quickly came out with a strong condemnation.

Asked about Akil’s speech, Fulop also referred all questions to Morrill, who later emailed a statement from the mayor saying he “doesn’t agree” with Akil’s remarks.

That’s good. For the record, Mayor Fulop does not agree that he has a little Hitler inside himself.

It should surprise no one that Akil comes out of the Nation of Islam, the same hyper racist group that helped produce liberal favorite and Congressman Keith Ellison.
