Here is a screen grab from the wonderful little program EARTHQUAKE 3D written by Richard Wolton.

You can see that that there have been 4 major quakes within the last 7 days. There were two in the Nepal region, a 6.3 and a 7.3. There is the 6.8 quake mentioned in the above post in Japan, and also a 7.2 quake in Papua, New Guinea (colored red to show it is older).

You can see on the control panel that the program is showing quakes in the last 7 days of magnitude 6.0 or greater.

"A large 6.8 magnitude earthquake has struck off the Northeast shores of Japan.

"This was forecast to occur yesterday, and follows a larger aftershock in Nepal measuring 7.3 magnitude (this morning), which was also expected to occur."

He points out that he had predicted this quake just one day previous and embeds this following video about the prediction. (Note his expert use of the Earthquake 3D program.)

I love the videos of Dutchsinse. It is amazing how many tools he has at fingertips and how deft he is at using them. This is the digital revolution on full display; he jumps from one data display to another, relating them all together to give a very wide picture; earthquakes, weather, Google Earth, volcanoes, solar events - he seems to have mastered all the forms of data available to paint a broad picture of what is happening on Earth from day to day.

I really commend his mastery and recommend his videos!
