SAFETY BULLETIN - Don't Play 'KNOCK-OUT GAME'- It's Dangerous & Can be Fatal - VIDEO

Hopefully, by now most of the public is aware that the so-called 'knock-out game' is dangerous to participate in and can sometimes even be fatal. Yep, you read it correctly - the 'knock-out' game can kill you if you play it.

The so-called 'knock-out game' is a contest where one person attempts to take a punch from another person. It appears that this type of contest is where the person to be struck is not to put up a block or guard, but is supposed to absorb the blow, supposedly proving how tough he or she is.

Consider for a moment the very best martial artists in history. In their forms, styles and teachings you don't or didn't see them on the receiving end of this kind of contest where the opponent has time to draw back and deliver a full punch. Bruce Lee had demonstrated a "one inch punch" in exhibitions, but it was not a telegraphed punch to the target sparring partner. As a matter of fact, one person who received the one inch punch may even have had some extra padding, but later said he still hurt in that area of the punch and refused to do more such demos.

If a one inch punch can be effective a longer punch can burst the heart muscle and/or pericardium around the heart causing death. I read that at least one young man did lose his life to this lunacy and did die playing the so-called 'knock-out game'. Even a lasting bruise on the heart can be troublesome for years to come, so this is not a smart or acceptable idea for people to play this dumb game. It is like an agreement to die or suffer great injury. Never agree to be a still target and simply allow someone to strike you! Smart boxers and martial artists don't do this. You were not given your body to have it abused.

Be smart and do not play the so-called 'knock-out game'. Keep all the good health you possibly can! Why not sign up for a youth martial arts training program instead of throwing your life away. You might learn a great deal in such a program.
