Everything I learned in hypnotherapy school was worth the time and doing of learning. For starters, I learned that the mind is divided into two parts. There is the Conscious and Subconscious Mind. Depending on whom you read these days the subconscious controls 88 to 95% of what happens to us. It is like a recording. It is programmed with thoughts both true and untrue. If bad things continually happen to you but they are similar, your subconscious has acted upon a belief about life that you have that is damaging to you.
Lesson 1: No instructor ever mentioned that the Conscious Mind is the creative mind. This part of our mind thinks of things that would be fun, entertaining and rewarding to experience. It passes along that information to the Subconscious Mind. Only thing is, the Subconscious mind does not listen to the Conscious creative mind but rarely. And the Subconscious mind does all the manifesting. Can you see a problem with that? Well, there really is not one, but it slows down what our life experiences are for sure.
Lesson 2: There are only certain ways to open the filter between the Conscious Mind and the Subconscious Mind. In hypnotherapy school, the main technique is call “Progressive Relaxation.” Another more advanced technique and most often noticed when watching a stage hypnotist is the “Shock Induction”. How and why those techniques are used is not what I am trying to explain here. I am pointing out that there is one more way to open the filter between the two minds and thus allow input into the Subconscious Mind. There is, however, one method that does not require any instruction or practice by any individual. You may begin using it now. Yes, right now, by using repetition. Repetition will eventually get through to the Subconscious Mind. You see, anything the Subconscious Mind believes to be true it accepts and acts upon. If you continually repeat to yourself that you love the color blue it won't take long before most of what you notice is blue in color.
Where this becomes really life changing is when you actually begin repeating what you desire (never use the term, want) in terms that express that, that desire is already present, the Subconscious Mind does the following two things. Repetition of an affirmation such as “I am a multi-millionaire” seats that affirmation as a truth that the Subconscious Mind begins to accept and thus fulfill that affirmation. It sounds crazy but only applying it in your life will you be able to finally decide that what I am teaching you here is, in fact, absolutely true. The problem all of us have is that we give up too soon. Here is an example that happened to me in the last 120 days.
I kept telling my wife this old Cadillac Escalade is not going to make it much further (Self Prophecy and manifestation). At the same time in my quiet, private meditations, I meditated on having a “new to me” Yellow Convertible Mustang. I only wanted a Yellow Mustang. You cannot buy a new Yellow Mustang until the 2015 models which were not yet available at that moment in time. Bang. The Cadillac had a major mechanical problem and I barely limped it home where it still sits on on the street awaiting money to restore it.
So, there we are, needing a car and we actually needed a car that would pull our RV or travel trailer. A mustang would not do that. I went to one of those national used car dealers like Car Max to see what was available and found a Ford Expedition in our price range. We were walking with the exception of using my daughter's car. Time to make a decision. We opted for the Expedition. Meanwhile I remind you that I was still visualizing and affirming a Yellow Mustang Convertible. However, with the deal on the Ford having been made and the down payment money spent. It made little sense and I dropped the Mustang idea.
Four days later, we drove by the dealership where we purchased the Ford. Parked with a couple of other convertible Mustangs was a Yellow Convertible Mustang. Four days between me and my dream, no longer possible with money already spent. I looked at my wife as I asked “What is the cosmos telling me?”
The answer I have decided as most likely is it wasn't the right car for our family due to other needs like towing our RV on trips to the mountains or hauling my grandson around. It was head beating, down to earth, incredulous, helpless feeling of total bewilderment as I watch them within one day sell that Yellow Mustang to someone else.
For years in the past, I have written off affirmations as useless. They are not. They only take tenacity and determination. Never give up. Just when you give up is when your desire manifests. I'm telling you this is the way it is. You probably have your own similar experiences. Still, you gave up early didn't you?
Lesson 3: You never learn in hypnotherapy school exactly what you are doing. You only learn the processes that produce “Progressive Relaxation” or “Shock Induction”. They taught us that we are opening the filter between the two minds, conscious and subconscious. However, it is a much larger function that the hypnotist performs. He/she sets the manifesting mode switch to on for the client. Yes, in effect, he puts the subject/client in a hypnotic state. Yet what is described in school is that it is the suggestions that change the actions of the client. What I am describing is that there is a fine line between how much “good” hypnotic suggestions do and actually causing the Subconscious Mind to take action. The way the switch is thrown is when your Conscious Mind begins to establish the affirmations as a belief. Only after belief is established about anything, will the subconscious act upon it. This is best done by visualizing, imagining, picturing or pretending.
To apply this teaching of my car experience and how you may apply it, think of yourself and your desires in visual ways. If there is an item or state that you desire, you must imagine it until you have a movie of it playing in your mind every time you relax. This movie is what convinces the Subconscious Mind that what it is seeing is a fact. Until the Subconscious Mind accepts those 1,000 test drives of the car you want, it will not go all out and manifest such a car for you free of charge.
Of course, if you have the money you can bypass all this crap. LOL

The real point is you can get it either way. Manifesting is cheaper.
