Guest Column: That sound you hear is the New World Order

We lost control of our government some time ago, and now with Obama, it is just more in the open. Or is it more comfortable to believe we are still in the America your fathers and grandfathers grew up in?

If you believe that we are living in a constitutional republic, that we are a free people, and that the Navy airplanes training in Mohave County over our heads for the last few months are the sound of freedom, sorry, you are living in an illusion of the past. If you still believe that our soldiers are serving America, you may be disappointed; let me show you with facts.

If you support the U.S. Constitution, according to Article I, Section 8, Clause 11, the last Constitutional war declared by Congress, in which our American soldiers fought, was World War II. Since WWII, we have been serving under the United Nations. From Korea, every so-called war our service men and women fought, was not a war but a "police action under the United Nations" (Harry Truman at a White House press conference on June 29, 1950).

In March 2014, Former Secretary of Defense Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey admitted that their authority comes not from the U.S. Constitution, as you might assume, but that the United States is subservient to and takes its marching orders from the United Nations and NATO.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower tried to warn us of the military-industrial complex and the risk to our freedom and independence. That was over 50 years ago.

Now in 2015, according to the National Defense Authorization Act passed by Congress at the request of Obama, every American citizen can be kidnapped, tortured and indefinitely detained by the military under directive of the executive, just because of suspicion of being a terrorist. No more due process, no more judge, no more jury or trial.

This used to happen in countries with oppressive regimes like Chile under General Pinochet, where thousands of innocent people disappeared, just because they were speaking against the government.
