SAFETY BULLETIN - Do Not Climb Cell Towers! - Woman is 2nd Fall Victim Recently Dead

Naturally, most folks have no intention of climbing up a cell tower, but sometimes young folks get a bit high and/or tipsy and dare one another to do things. Climbing cell towers is a loser! It simply is not worth the risk for unauthorized persons to be up there on these electric contraptions. Not only is it possible to accidentally lose the grip and fall, but there is a distinct possibility that there are proximity sensors on cell towers which indicate the presence of an object or person there.

If someone passes through a proximity sensor, whether the sensor is directly from a satellite or whether it is locally on the tower or both, the result will probably be that a signal will be sent to the company or personnel who maintain the towers and an effort will probably be made by those people to determine whether it is an authorized technician up there or an unauthorized person.

Not that the cell tower companies would do this, but it is possible to administer a jolt, either sonic or electric, or both, to someone on those towers by remote control.

One could also get struck by lightning up there. Even a small jolt could cause loss of consciousness and a subsequent fall.

Unfortunately this 28-year-old woman reportedly fell to her death Saturday morning from a telecommunications tower not far from Eden, Texas in west Texas. It isn't clear yet whether she was a worker or what she was doing there. A man also fell from one of these in this area a few months back, also. Stay off of these structures for your own safety!
