The further back you go in history/herstory, the more obvious it becomes, that knowledge and how to put it to use, was considered sacred, like magic. The less people knew, the more you could guarantee a decent living for your individual self.
The more ignorant people are, the easier it is for the ONE with knowledge to SURVIVE. Because with the knowledge and skill, you can get paid very well. You and only a few others can perform the task required. You are a god among men. Or so it seems..
The thing most people miss, is the construction aspect of "freemasonry". Everyone gets stuck in the idea that the secrecy must be about symbols that must have something to do with mysterious things, and or controlling others. That is partly true if you look at it the right way. Controlling others, by not sharing the knowledge. Mysterious symbols, like the compass and square, both of which use "degrees" to "measure", for the performance of their craft, that being Masonry, brick, cement, stone...
Like any other group, clique, or religious people that come together, there are usually at least two reasons for doing so. One, is for the overtly stated intent, such as religious worship. Two, is for networking. Yeah, this happens in every group, clique, or religious gathering. The masons, the shriners, all serve mostly for networking. A means to increase business. For what purpose? To survive, and of course acquire a better lifestyle. There are some that take it to the extreme, like an addiction.
There are many symbols in use, and even the inner circles don't really know what they mean. Take the symbol that was used by the Nazi. The symbol to most people represents fascist behavior, but some would say it is much more than that. Consider the use by the Nazi. What an easy way to make people hate the symbol, and therefore decide not to perform any further analysis on that symbol. People will never look up at the sky at night or in hubble photos and notice the shape. They will remain ignorant of how creation works. But that is not to imply that the Nazi knew any more than it was in the sky.
There are many symbols that have been described by a few people who spend a lot of time doing such things, but even they don't really know what those symbols mean, because they have yet to step out of the material world long enough to recognize the relationships. The feeling that the ignorant gets by being included in a somewhat secret group, snuffs out the possible increased awareness that would come from large scale communication about such things among the entire population. That is sad.
Imagine, that knowledge and skills were shared among the entire population. First some will say that they would be out of a job. I would respond by saying, would you need one at that point?
If you have ever worked with a group of people, and spent the time to teach them how to do something, and then watched how that group's abilities evolved, it would be obvious as to the benefits for everyone in the group. The harmony that is expressed, the individual motivation to learn more and do more grows. The tasks become easier, and quicker to perform. Everyone comprehends why it is done in a particular way, and how to do it. There is no arguing, or fear of failure, as each is there to help each other. Life for all can only get easier and more pleasurable. Now apply that group to the task of survival.
It is the fear of losing one's job the prevents this from happening. It is the fear of losing the control that prevents this from happening. It is the fear of having to learn more that prevents this from happening, when you are tired. You are tired because competing against your fellow man, woman, and child is exhausting. It is easier to cooperate with each other.
Cooperation for survival, is natural.
Is there a reason for not letting the human species survive, thrive, and evolve?
