Los Angelenos will have lots of time on the roads this afternoon to contemplate the midterm elections when President Obama flies in for one of those “Hollywood fundraisers” news outlets love to sniff at — especially this one, at the home of Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth’s Brentwood neighborhood was festooned with Obama Drone non-fan posters in anticipation of the president’s visit — tickets to which raised $1K-$32K per head for the Democratic National Committee, depending on whether the ticket holder wanted to actually get dinner as well as a photo with Obama. Press already is reporting that Obama plans to meet with supporters at that dinner and answer their questions, clearing that up.

But, before that clambake, Obama will visit Cross Campus in Santa Monica, and hold a town hall at that Petrie dish of millennials. He’s expected to talk about “the important economic progress our country has made and one generation in particular — millennial — who will shape our economy for decades to come,” the White House said in a statement.

Here’s what you’ve got in store to make all this fun possible: a “hard closure” along Hilgard Ave between Le Conte Ave. & Weyburn Ave. that started — now — and runs through Friday at 6 PM. Metro Bus Orange Line route 302/2 on Hilgard Ave. between Le Conte Ave. & Weyburn Ave. will be cancelled from 11 AM today, through 4 PM tomorrow. Hopefully this will not inconvenience any of Gwyneth’s guests.
