This is the question we all should be asking. Why does it matter? Congress, in investigating Loretta Lynch, Obama's choice to replace Eric Holder as U.S. Attorney General, have discovered some interesting connections. It seems that when Loretta Lynch co-founded the only African American Sorority when she was at Harvard, there was only one other woman in it. Her name was Sharon Malone.
Let me see, where have I heard that name before? Oh, yes, that would be the same name as the wife of Eric Holder. Who, by the way, is the sister of a civil rights activist leader named Vivian Malone Jones. She was one of the two students who enrolled in the all white University of Alabama. Now while these things are all something to be proud of, I for one, have to question her ability to be neutral in any ongoing or future investigation in connection to Eric Holder.
Both of these women were born in 1959 and attended Harvard at the same time. Since there were very few black students at Harvard in that period between 1977-1981, it's more than likely that Loretta Lynch is an old college friend of Sharon Malone. While there is nothing nefarious about these women being friends, never-the-less, I am concerned about this connection. Why?
It should be fairly obvious. The investigation into Holder's connection or involvement with Fast & Furious gun trafficking to Mexican drug cartels, the First Amendment violations of AP and other reporters, the IRS scandal, not to mention the VA scandal and attempted cover up all happened during Holders tenure as Attorney General. Let's also not forget the allegations of Obama's use of a stolen Connecticut social security number (Harrison J. Bournel, 042-68-4425) you remember, the dead guy? As well as Obama's use of other bogus ID like the pathetically faked draft card and a very questionable birth certificate. Any Attorney General worthy of the title should have been investigating these allegations, not stonewalling and obfuscating others inquiries at every turn.
Hopefully these investigations are still active. But I have to question just how neutral Ms. Lynch would be toward any investigation of the husband of her long time friend. Surely she would recuse herself and let someone else head those investigations? Don't bet on it. I believe she was chosen exactly for that reason, her long time connection to the Holders. I'm not sure it's such a good idea to have the President appoint his own AG. Maybe that is a position that would be better served by having a bi-partisan committee do the choosing as well as confirming, since they are almost always confirmed it seems.
I smell a 'Gerald Ford/Richard Nixon shell game here. I believe Loretta Lynch was hand-picked as a gatekeeper by Obama to help continue the cover-up of possible criminal or at the very least questionable actions of Eric Holder and Obama. She will be, if confirmed, in the most important position to shield both Holder and Obama from criminal prosecution should any of those investigations ever get that far. That is why we all should be concerned. The top law enforcement person in the country should have no bias in any investigation. I doubt if that is true in this case.
I would really like to think that a woman with her education and experience in the judicial system would be above playing favorites, if evidence presented proved wrong doing on the part of either Holder or Obama, but that isn't the way the game is played in Washington. Just look at our so-called Supreme Court. There needs to be term limits on those positions as well as a method of terminating their position once they violate any part of the Constitution. Otherwise, they are just part of the problem.
I guess time will tell if she is actually confirmed. But the members of the committee know about her connections to the Holders so it will be interesting to see what conclusions they draw and what actions they will take. That will tell us volumes about our elected officials. In the meantime, it would be good to let our elected officials know that We the People are watching what they do. Backroom deals take on a different look in the light of day. My Senator on the committee already got an email.
