Richard, I do have a reverse Osmosis filter and love it.. It's only on my drinking water though.. I need to get another for my bath/shower water..

I've been into this subject for years and keep finding more info.

Most city water is, unfortunately, very toxic these days.

Most cities now use a compound called chloramine - it's a very nasty combination of chlorine and ammonia! Chlorine alone is bad enough as it's poison and kills the good bacteria in your gut (immune system & much more) but at least it could be filtered out by reverse osmosis or a Brita (activated charcoal) filter or letting the water sit. Not true about chloramine.

Chloramine requires much more extensive filtration like RO. It is much more toxic.

Then there's also health destroying flouride which only RO or distillation will remove. The industrial waste flouride used in water is also usually radioactive. It is the byproduct of such as fertilizer mfg, the nuclear and aluminum industries and is a massive scam. It has NO GOOD BENEFITS AT ALL.

I am thankfully on untreated well water but there is still a problem with hard water here which is the inorganic mineral content which filtering does not remove. It coats your insides with gunk just like it does the sink, shower and water heater.

I can't afford an RO system. Distilled water is a good answer except that it is pretty acidic and can upset your ph. The answer for me is using distilled water but adding healthful alkalinity. Here are a few ways to do that using ORGANIC minerals:

Add some healthy sea salt (minerals). Table salt is no good as it is only sodium chloride (NaCl) and should be avoided generally. Here's my favorite

Add Trace Minerals (very good for health - most folks are deficient, especially critical Magnesium)

You don't need much of any of these options and they are not expensive.
Distilled water runs about $1/ gallon at the grocery, so in addition to the health benefits & great taste it's far cheaper than most other bottled water options.
