BOILING MAD.

My dearly beloved and I recently met with our "Enrolled Agent" to file our income tax report with the IRS. We have been using his services for several years, now, and there has never been "a hitch in the git-along", so to speak. He is very trustworthy and always well-informed on both federal and Connecticut taxes.

Earlier today I learned that somehow, both my information and some of the info' for his wife have been hacked.

Luckily -- or strangely enough -- his calculations showed that we had some underpayment of with-holding in 2014, because my wife retired in November of last year, and she had some bonus money from overtime paid to her along the way.

So, in fact, our tax returns indicated that we owed money to both sets of taxes instead of getting a fat refund as was almost always the case in the past. We do not expect these pond-scum sucking hackers to pay the amounts due !! The violation of our privacy is, however, extremely galling.

My share of our earnings in 2014 was also down, because I took a tumble about a year + ago, getting nerve damage in my right hand and knocking me out of some temp office work that I had been able to do in the recent years past. Galling as that was, it did contribute to the fact that we owed taxes this year and did not have a refund coming.

For most of the years that I have been here at Rumor Mill News, I have been working as a volunteer writer/editor. For some of that time Rayelan was able to send me a stipend to cover part of my internet access costs, which was NOT earned income or wages.

That was always fine with me, because I believe in her vision and her goals for R.M.N., and I respect her totally.

Really, I cannot say how much I despise and detest the "income taxes" without lapsing into vitriol or profanity. Really, I do not know -- yet -- how my E.A. got clobbered or how his wife got hacked too.

Really, I am feeling that this hack-a-sode is just another reason to abolish the income tax and most of the I.R.S., and to let the Congress find some other ways to keep the highways and bridges from crumbling and our veterans from waiting for medical care until they, too, crumble away. Really, I do.
