I know an 84-year-old who is basically a Christian Rabbi, deeply learned in Old Testament mysticism, but also accepting the New Testament and more recent testimonies or explanations of Jesus as Christ, such as Course in Miracles and Conversations with God and most especially, God Calling and God at Eventide (see twolisteners.org ).
He called yesterday morning and regaled three of us with his latest findings in the meaning of the heart of the gospel of Messiah son of David, and he says Jesus is the Christ because he adores the children of God (ALL humans) more than any other, and that is also a key to Archangel Michael's pre-eminence.
One starts by beholding the beauty of God in his Creation, and then looking for and adoring the good in all humans, and if they are bad in conduct, praying for them and wishing them the best and looking for the good in them, Course in Miracles says that at their core, each human being is pure and innocent as the Lamb of God, the Son of God. Even Hitler, Charles Manson and Democrats! And yes even Republicans, even though they do serious naughties like this:

My friend points out an amazing double entendre in John the Baptist's famous statement/advice:
"Behold the Lamb of God [in every human being] [because doing so] taketh away the sins of the world!"
The sin of the world is ignoring or depreciating the Creator, so the key to taking away the sin of the world is APPRECIATING God, and that by appreciating the living beings his spirit dwells within, which is all living beings, these are interesting and very similar omens:

My friend said yesterday morning that a key to mental and physical health is to look for the good in all humans, "Show kindness to your brother whose mind is still in the dark", Joseph Smith was told on September 11, 1831 that God will forgive or not forgive whom he will, but humans are to forgive all humans.
My friend says charity has virtually nothing to do with giving someone a gift, God's charitableness means to wish the best for someone, to ignore their flaws and yearn for their good side to shine forth, he says when you do that--blessing people including enemies instead of cursing them--that you are automatically blessed, by God and by that person whom you bless.
And your physical health increases when you do that, he said. He said the word "peace" forms a dichotomy with the word "disease", and that a key to mental and physical healing is to appreciate people--including departed souls, including dumbass politicians like Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz--instead of hating on them. Pray that one's true self shines forth, because the true self is not the Ego, not egotistical self-righteous paranoid and grasping, domineering and delusional.
