The outdoors sequences in 'THE SWIMMER' are astoundingly beautiful if you appreciate the beautiful outdoors. From the sparkling swimming pool waters to the green rolling hills and trees, etc. it is magnificent.

Burt Lancaster's character Ned Merrill goes to the extreme in his make believe world as he pretends to 'swim home' across the rural-suburban neighborhood - to find only ...what? Along the way he re-visits old friends and at least one old flame portrayed by actress Janice Rule.

If you're looking for a different kind of film this might interest you. A few suggestive scenes with mature themes, but only slight nudity of Burt Lancaster (rear).
