Reader reports same problem with iOS 10.3.3. My phone which doesn't have the problem is on iOS 10.1.1

I'm running iOS 10.3.3 and my issue is exactly as you describe with the blank space where the video should be.
One of the agents who always leaves out links crediting original sources is Watchman, and not just for YouTube videos. I've brought this up with Hobie before, but nothing ever changed. This could possibly set RMN up for copyright violation lawsuits, as some of what he posts is copyrighted. I tend not to pay much attention to much of what he posts, as much of it is nothing but fear mongering. There are a few that catch my attention though.
Anyhow, it sure would be nice to see links back to the original
Source in all posts.

So apparently the problem arose between iOS 10.1 and 10.3.
It occurred to me that I had the YouTube app on my iPad but not on my iPhone, and maybe the YouTube app was somehow suppressing embedded browser YouTube videos. So I deleted the YouTube app from my iPad, and installed it on my iPhone, but it made no difference. So it does appear to be due to the iOS version.
