While visiting a neighbor friend recently, she pointed out her window to an extremely toxic weed called poisonous Hemlock that was growing on the side of her field. We live in a rural area and I had seen it before. It was like a new plant, as I don't remember seeing it as a kid. I didn't know what it was and never gave it much thought. That sure has changed! Since she pointed it out to me, I noticed we have some on our 1 acre lot. And it's multiplying! Then I find out another neighbor has lost 3 horses to it and others have 12 cows. As far as weeds go it's actually quite pretty. However, it needs to be pulled up and irradiated.
I live in Washington state, but the plant can be found in every state with the exception of Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, and Mississippi.

I guess this is where the Hemlock Society got its name. This is a newer invasive weed where I live. Here is what it looks like.
