(hobie here.) Well---it's going down the drain in your experience because you've chosen to install a twitter-thwarting entry in your own hosts file. :)

Twitter may be "control and deception", but only in the broad sense of disallowing certain conservative voices to be part of its chorus of voices, thus producing a left-skewed 'echo chamber'. Even so, there are conservative and neutral tweets still being created on Twitter, which are not controlling or deceiving on their own.

I'm posting tweets because that's where I'm coming upon certain information and I think it will be of interest and/or importance to RMN Readers. Those posts generally get a lot of views expressly because they can be expected to take just a short time to read and/or watch. They're bite-sized news, humor, and human interest items.

Have you considered a VPN? Seems like that would allow you to view and read selected tweets without worrying about tracking, no?
