This won't be everyone's cup of tea. :) But for some ... well, here's 'Tuber Norm Diaz's comment on this track:
This was one of the three songs on this album that opened my eyes to jazz. For me, this was THE Blood, Sweat &Tears album. This one still holds up to this day.
For me, they set the pace for all the other horn groups to follow. They had the jazz component to their sound so for me they were the quintessential horn/rock band, all other were secondary.
From here, this particular Blood, Sweat & Tears recording, I discovered Miles, Ellington, Freddie Hubbard, Coltrane, Bill Evans and others. Here they fused into a group where it was more than guitar and keyboard solos, backed by horn parts.
The liner notes about this track:
Interpolating "Sunshine of Your Love" (Jack Bruce, Pete Brown, Eric Clapton), "Spoonful" (Willie Dixon) and "Somethin' Goin' On" (Al Kooper)
From their 1968 self-titled album, here are Blood, Sweat & Tears with "Blues - Part II".
