The article theorizes (based on actual evidence of parts of it) that the organophosphates are toxic to prions. Once affected, the newly made-rogue prions bond lethally with manganese and go on to 'radicalize' other prions in the body. Those prions evidently are able to damage brain cells.

The article mentions that most supplements given to chickens pass through, producing manganese-rich excreta which has been made one ingredient in cattle feed. Deer exhibiting 'Mad Cow' behaviors were found to have been eating pine needles, rich in manganese.

One wonders, then, about the manganese content of food plants grown with biosludge and whether organophosphate is applied to those plants as well. Theoretically such a combination might lead to 'rogue prions' without need of an infectious agent.
