Kavanaugh bump: New polls give GOP major boost ahead of midterms

(National Sentinel) Election 2018: While the Democrats and their sycophantic allies in the “mainstream” media have tried to assassinate the character of a good man and lifelong public servant as well as his family, they have also done the Republican Party a huge favor.

The more Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh is savaged by the lunatic Left, the higher in the polls GOP House and Senate candidates rise, Breitbart News reports:

The polls, from North Dakota, Indiana, Arizona, Missouri, and Tennessee, show Republicans in most of the races in the strongest positions they have been in all year against their Democrat opponents. The best news for the GOP is in North Dakota, where incumbent Democrat Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) trails her GOP challenger Republican U.S. Senate nominee Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) by 12 ponts–the biggest lead Cramer has opened yet.

That North Dakota survey polled 704 likely voters and has a margin of error of 3.5 percent. It shows Cramer at 53 percent, to Heitkamp’s 41 percent–a stunning 12-point margin that comes on the heels of a recent local news poll earlier this week showing Heitkamp trailing Cramer by 10 points.

In the last Fox News poll on this race earlier in September, Cramer only led by 4 percent–so the news he has opened a commanding 12-point lead on Heitkamp is welcome among Republicans on Capitol Hill and throughout North Dakota as it appears Heitkamp is headed to a place where the lead Cramer has over her may become insurmountable in the final weeks of the campaign.

Meanwhile, “in Tennessee, where GOP Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) faces Democrat and former Gov. Phil Bredesen for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), Blackburn has finally opened a sizable lead over her Democrat opponent. Blackburn, at 48 percent, is 5 percent ahead of Democrat Bredesen–who’s down at 43 percent,” the news site noted.

And as we reported earlier this week, in Texas, it looks as though Sen. Ted Cruz will handily beat Rep. Beto O’Rourke, while in Missouri, state Attorney General Josh Hawley is leading Democrat incumbent Claire McCaskill.

The Boston Herald reported further:

According to [a] recently released report, the percent of Americans saying they have a “favorable” view of Republicans now stands at 45 percent, up from 36 percent. Favorability for Democrats stands at 44 percent, exactly where it was last September.

This is the highest favorability for Republicans since January 2011, when it stood at 47 percent just after Republicans gained control of Congress in the 2010 midterm elections.

“Just over a month away from critical elections across the country, the wide Democratic enthusiasm advantage that has defined the 2018 campaign up to this point has disappeared, according to a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll,” NPR’s Domenico Montanaro wrote on Wednesday, noting that the drop comes as the Kavanaugh character assassination continued.

“In July, there was a 10-point gap between the number of Democrats and Republicans saying the November elections were ‘very important.’ Now, that is down to 2 points, a statistical tie.”
