From wordman, somewhere in the woods...

What if we were all brainwashed and held hostage by vampiric forces? Would we realize? What if this was our last summer – our last chance – to stage a getaway? Would any of us take it? What if something like a real-life Zombie apocalypse was on our doorstep? Would anybody know? These are the questions in the pre-dawn hours that disturb my mind and steal my sleep, painting it with fitful dreams. What if these are our last “dog days?”

The evenings here are quiet now, and long. But the twilight seems to hold menace in the lengthening shadows. And that quiet is disturbed by strange disappearances, mysterious, unaccounted for deaths, and bizarre behaviours by so many I thought I knew once like the back of my hand. And as the evenings fall once again, even the strongest mindsets and certain will powers falter, as the night wind whispers again the word “lost.” We are all lost. These may all be the paranoid imaginings of a brain that never grew up, embraced too many Invasion of the Body Snatchers scenarios in its formative years, haha!! Would that all this were the case…no one would be happier than me. But in the far distances a bell is tolling, and I sense in my bones that a darker, sterner reality is forming – created and embraced by elite personages that have whispered words like depopulation and genocide as career goals for longer than I have been alive. What if they have finally found the means to bring these goals into plain view on the world stage? Is this engineering of the darkest aspects of humanity so impossible? Is anyone still watching the play? Where’s the orchestra?

I woke up in the twilight zone with this as our new creed. Anybody feelin’ me?
