Choosing a New Perspective

In the not too distant future, the “Stay at Home” orders across the country will begin to lift and we will find ourselves in a new normal. As we do, I find myself asking, “What lens do I want on my eyes as I enter this new world?” I’m choosing the Lens of Celebration. The isolation over the past weeks has allowed me to see, in high relief, the things that really matter in my life and to realize how much I want to focus on them. So my vision going forward will be one that celebrates what’s right in the world. Why? Because my vision controls my perception and my perception becomes my reality.  One of the Aunties on Molokai once said to me, “I never ask ‘How do I fix what’s wrong?’. I simply say to myself, ‘How can I make this better?’ That’s what I want to bring to this new normal. Making sure I keep my attention on all that’s right and then simply saying, “How can I make it even better?” Here’s a short video I made about this wise auntie. I know you’ll enjoy it. .
