More than 50 intelligence analysts working in the command of the US Army filed formal complaints alleging that their senior officials change their reports on the Islamic state and the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda.

Complaints have forced the chief investigator for the Pentagon to open an investigation into the alleged manipulation of data. The fact that so many people had made complaints suggests that there are deep-rooted problems in the way the military command of the United States conducts evaluation of data.

- The problem is on the highest level of the intelligence community - said one of the employees in the Ministry of Defence.

Two senior US analysts have submitted a written complaint to the Ministry of Defence in July which claimed that their reports about terrorist organizations, show they are weaker than they are. To make matters more complicated, some of these reports have come into the hands of President Obama.
Analysts said that the reports are altered to be consistent with the allegations that the US administration is to win the fight against the Islamic state and the Al Nusra.

The allegations suggest that a large group of people that follows the internal functioning of terrorist organizations considered that the reports of these same terrorist organizations are changed to fit into the picture that the administration wants to show to the public. A situation similar to this happened before, when senior officials and political appointees in 2002 and 2003 selectively chosen and interpreted data on alleged weapons programs in Iraq.

Analysts who have submitted a complaint saying that the real situation in the original reports is rather pessimistic, and one person who is familiar with the contents of the appeal, said that the tone of relations that have set those monitoring reports are "Stalinist". According to the complaints, some analyzes that were too negative, are not forwarded to superiors. After that, it was noted that some analysts auto censor themselves.

The last few months members of the Obama administration are unique in public appearances in which they argue that the US (and coalition they lead) is wining the war against ISIS despite the that terrorist organization took the big cities such as Mosul and Fallujah.
