Residents of the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad farewell their most loved ones who go to northern Iraq where they will join the Kurdish fighters of Pesmerga, the Iraqi military, and the Christian brigade who are preparing a major offensive on the city of Mosul, the last town and a mainstay of ISIL in Iraq.

Everything is ready for attack

What I am most fascinated by is that parents who their sons and daughters, who applied as volunteers, led away merrily as if they go to the wedding party, and not to fight.

Similarly, volunteers who went on jeeps sang patriotic and revolutionary songs - 22-year-old law student Hadi, whom at the farewell came a multitude of family and friends, told me that he left college and enlisted as a volunteer because he no longer could watch extremists terrorize the Iraqi nation and the whole world.
