Reading the following passage, I am reminded of some of the information passed to us by Edgar Cayce, from the trance state:

: Consider the Caduceus of Hermes which is the symbol of healing
: seen on your doctors lapel. Two serpents entwined in a
: copulation of healing and new life.

The twin serpents are said to represent the Ida and the Pingala, the two "tunnels" or pathways of psychic energy which reside in the body, and which channel and regulate the flow of psychic energy, also known among yoga practitioners as 'kundalini.'

: Consider the double helix of DNA.

It is my judgement that the Ida and Pingala are etheric representations of the actual chemical nature of living human energy, the kundalini power, which is itself directly augmented or suppressed in the body by the patterns of breath and breathing that each person uses while he or she is alive. All of the known disciplines of yoga require adopting one or another method of breath control, deep breathing, and what one teacher once called 'breathing for effect.' Every person who has ever labored after climbing a long flight of stairs knows how important to the body and thus to life, good breathing really is.

Edgar Cayce, in numerous 'readings' given from the trance state, referred to the reality of Jesus of Nazareth, that he was indeed a living human being who became, by his works within himself and by studying different forms of exercise -- probably yoga -- and this control of the body's energies was necessary to activate and discipline the endocrine system of glands and the psychic abilities which yoga enhances, illuminates and must ultimately control. The body has seven power centers called 'chakras' and the Cayce readings indicate that each chakra is directly linked to one of the endocrine sub-systems.

Cayce's readings were assembled and compiled into a booklet on the Revelation of St. John, otherwise known as the Apocalypse.

It was his contention, in those trance-state readings, that the recurring symbolism of 'sevens' in that master work of revelation was direct instruction to all Christians of this endocrinal and kundalini-activated master system. The seven churches which were in Asia minor represent, each in its own way, the seven power centers or chakras. The seven angels or spirits were symbolic of the lifting or raising of kundalini energy, with the appropriate unsealing of each hidden or internal mystery or "Seal", being accompanied by disturbances in the life-force and energy pattern of the individual human being.

888 being the mystical number of Jesus Christ thus, directly, indicates that once a person has raised that energy and learned to control those internal centers of psychic power, and to moderate the flow of kundalin up and down the Ida and Pingala, they then activate the presence of "the Elect," or the 144,000, which is revelation symbolism for a fully-aware and alert brain.
When the individual has mastered their own individual flow of energy, and unsealed or opened each chakra and its corresponding system of biochemical and organic energy, they then must face the final struggle, or Armageddon, which is the prerequisite for attaining this perfect of "eighth level" of psychic power.

The fully enlightened individual who thus attains the Christ-consciousness which 888 symbolizes then apparently also masters the physical and metaphysical laws of karma, which is how the person can then be freed of the necessity to reincarnate.

Thus, early Christians must have known about and accepted at least some of the doctrines of yoga, including reincarnation and karma.

: the sand , it will wash away.

: You mean I have to be odedient to your teachings? I have to
: seek within myself and practice the single eye, and
: separate from thought and watch. We don't do that at our
: church, that sounds like New Age stuff.

: AND WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ?

: Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect he became the author of
: eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.

: Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things and so is
: also the Holy Ghost whom God has given to them that obey
: him.

We need more information on what early Christians knew and believed. By the way, many Buddhist cults in Japan and other places were quite militaristic and violent. They were not pacificists.
