Subject: Physicist Refutes Derogatory Article on Disclosure Press Conference

A top ranking US scientist Dr Jean-Noel Aubrun has added
his criticism to the Washington Post derogatory piece on the
Disclosure Press Conference, written by Joel Achenback.
His letter to Achenbach - (permission has been given for its
publication) is below.

Dear Mr. Achenbach:
Being a physicist, and having spent the last 30 years of my
life in the aerospace industry, I must say that I found your article on the UFO Disclosure conference quite entertaining and amusing, but sadly wrong and of great disservice to your readers.

You may not be familiar with scientific methods, and this may be excusable if you have not been trained this way. However it is expected from you, as a journalist, to understand the procedures by which evidence is considered in our courts of law. Just a small fraction of those "gray-haired men who had retired years ago from the military" would have been ample enough to end someone to the electric chair. These are credible witnesses, with an impeccable record, people you trusted to defend your life
with theirs. If you truly believe that these people are crazy or just fooled, I suggest that you never fly in an airplane anymore, because there are large number of commercial pilots that had close encounters with non-terrestrial crafts.I frankly do not understand why you are writing with such a disrespect for these people, and such a disregard for the facts. Is it because objects in your newspaper must appear smaller than they really are? There is a big Universe out there, and America does exist, and it
is 2001, not the Middle Ages any more. You wrote about "the corrosive side-effects of government secrecy." Indeed. And you wonder why so many Americans do not trust their Government anymore,do not have any respect for the laws, and, I am sorry to
say, are using newspapers for wrapping or other unspeakable use?
I hope you reflect on what true journalism is about and its social responsibility. Please do your homework and investigate all the facts. You may be surprised.
