Arnold Schwarzenegger has dropped out of the governor's race, but will Bo Derek run for the Senate from California?

As the still perfect ten turned heads in the Capitol on Tuesday, her escort suggested that she might be planning a challenge to Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) in 2004.

"She'll be the next Senator from California," Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.) declared to HOH.

The Congressman even decided to give Derek - who has been seen on the arm of another high-profile Republican, Rep. David Dreier (Calif.) - a tour of the Senate cloakroom and the Majority Leader's office.

Derek, however, demurred on the possibility of a Senate run. "No, no," she insisted.

Derek enjoyed a somewhat high profile during last year's presidential campaign. In addition to a prime-time speaking slot on the final night of the Republican National Convention and later appearances with George W. Bush in Florida.

But Derek claims she's not into running for office. "I just campaigned for him, that's all," she said.

Derek, who was in town for the correspondents dinner, said she used the extra days inside the Beltway to visit friends from the campaign trail "and maybe gloat a little" over her candidate's victory, as well as what she considers a successful first 100 days in office.

Her political tour de force included stops in the West Wing of the White House, where she scooped up the presidentially labeled M&Ms.

If nothing else, she said, Bush has changed the tone and culture of Washington, something she believes was evident at Saturday's correspondents dinner, which she attended for the first time last year and came away shocked at the double-entendre jokes thrown at the feet of then President Clinton.

This year's jokes, said the woman who made a living baring her breasts on film, "were funnier and in good taste."

Oh, how times change.
