Well, that is what modern Republican Party activists do.

The federal government has no authority to make rules for the workplace for anyone except those people it hires directly to work in lawfully-constituted agencies and bureaux, on military bases or at federal arsenals, or on projects paid for with federal tax dollars. Those particular rules should be the subject of federal contracting law and not a general, one-size fits all law. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is of dubious constitutionality and treads very heavily on the rights of the States to set the terms and rules of workers' safety within their own sovereign borders.

The Clinton Administration was born in blood and fire: nothing done by the Stupid Party in the last fifty years compares with the abrogation of individual rights which Clinton's BATF put into action at Waco early in 1993. Nobody amongst the liberals or on the left wants to admit the truth of that, or to discuss the fact that four of the ATF agents killed that first day at Mt. Carmel, outside of Waco, were former Clinton bodyguards. Wonder what the actuarial tables of the major insurance companies would reveal about that as a possibility?

There is no constitutional mandate for federal judges to be taken from the ranks of lawyers or attorneys-at-the-bar, and local Bar Associations dating from the 1840s are the ones responsible for the suppression of the original Thirteenth Amendment, which was the eleventh plank of the Bill of Rights. These were pro-slavery lawyers, of course, and their leader was one James Buchanan, the former Senator and Secretary of State who was once hailed as "the greatest jurist of his era." He was a liar, a swindler, and most likely a paid operative of the British royal family.

Here there is an agreement with the criticism, but that is because Kenneth Starr was a do-nothing schlub who deliberately fumbled the investigation into the murder of Vincent W. Foster, and who couldn't find Hillary Clinton's fingerprints on any of the most egregious scandals that sullied her well-tailored pant-suits. Spencer Abraham is the closest thing to a political gigolgo this side of the Rappahanock, and the problem with John Ashcroft is that he has gone all soft and mushy on both Roe and on the dastardly elements of oppression inherent in the Brady Bill. Too bad for all Americans that he lost his nerve when he obtained the august position of Attorney General.

None of the rest of this article makes any difference to the true patriot or lover of liberty, because whatever the Republicans are -- globalists, soft money addicts, hypocrites -- they are not Brownshirts. Grover Norquist is a sensible fellow and by no means ultra- anything. The Clintonista team squandered their political capital in the first six months of their regime, and it was only their incredible capacity for discovering and using blackmail and other forms of intimation -- including outright political murder (see Jeremy "Mike" Boorda or Mary C. Mahony), and the unabashed selling of presidential pardons -- that kept them in the chips for such a long time. The Bush team may prove to be as wicked and corrupt as the Clintons, but at least for six months or a year, they will be busy cleaning out the desks of the Clinton hold-overs and trying to recover the missing data, missing travel vouchers, and missing millions of dollars that their predecessors' incompetence or greed squandered.

For that period of time, at least, the people of this country will have some breathing room. The Federalist Society is not the enemy, here: it is the legion of swindlers and cheap confidence men employed by the Two Clintons, and the battalions of Chinese spies that they allowed into the country which really matters.

The way to narrow the gap between "the rich" and the rest of the people in the country is to abolish the federal income tax and pack up the IRS, and to reclaim the lost rights of the several States, as guaranteed under the Tenth and the original Thirteenth Amendments. Nothing less will do, and if that is not at least attempted, nothing much else will matter. Mr. Clinton and Mr. Gore made this country ripe for a United Nations suzerainty, and globalism will provide a legion of vultures happy to do the plucking -- the Bushies can be taken to task on that at any time but do "liberals" have that much courage? Go figure.

The Bushies are wanton and cruel in their own ways: but at least they won't steal the furniture in the White House.
