Insulting cartoons of Prophet Mohammed, published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten, on page 3 of their "culture" section, on Sept. 30, 2005 - have done extensive damage on further dialogues and are fueling at the same time Islamophobia.
Meanwhile a discussion has started - around the usual "freedom" of press.
Despite a following apology (did the editors probably anticipate the response?), Jyllands Posten’s head office in Aarhus and its representative office in the Danish capital Copenhagen were evacuated under bomb threats last week, though the information turned out to be baseless.
In the meantime - almost logical - Syrians have started to boycott Danish products in a reaction to the publishing of the cartoons - "depicting" Prophet Muhammad - an act forbidden in Islam. Yemeni students protest as well and you can see various pictures where (logical!) Palestinian(sic!) Al-Aksa-brigades are stepping on Danmark's flag...
Agitation and public excitement programmed...
Various newspapers in Europe - among them the Axel-Springer Die Welt who brought the story on the front page - have declared their "solidarity" in an instant and have been reproducing the cartoons.
The MSM-"medea" as a welcome multiplicator of hegelian dialectics: With me - or against me.
The editor of Jyllands Posten says it quite well - although one can read these lines "differently" as well: "This is a far bigger story than just the question of 12 cartoons in a small Danish newspaper," the editor, Flemming Rose, said.
"This is about the question of integration and how compatible is the religion of Islam with a modern secular society," Mr. Rose added, "how much does an immigrant have to give up and how much does the receiving culture have to compromise."
In other words - some may regard this man as an "useful" - idiot.
12 cartoons...
3 religions - all of one kind - ...
...4 diversification.
All in one. Again rolling on the "cultural" tracks.
