Pardon me for saying so, but you just proved his point:

There is a BIG difference between having the freedom to 'hunt and gather' (which we no longer do) and working for someone else in order to sustain our existence. Indeed, the Industrial Revolution destroyed man's self-sufficiency and made him a slave to the Dollar. Around 1917 something like 95% of the people had their own businesses or were farmers. By the 50's this had decreased to something like 30% (the figures may be off, but you get the gist). Today it would be closer to 5%.

I agree with Duncan. We are INDEED slaves. And I agree with you: We were born into this system...but as SLAVES. What is so completely ignorant and boring about the whole thing is that those who are slavemasters today are the slaves tomorrow. If we could just realize that we were all connected, we could start loving OUR SELVES and each other and get beyond this trite, overblown story of us/them; good/bad good/evil black/white, ad nauseum.

His point about those who eat the energy of our emotions is well taken however. They are certainly NOT human. Don Juan Mateur spoke to Casteneda about them: He called them 'The Flyers' and said that they were eating man's shiney coat of Energy down to his feet. That all Man had left of his own extraordinary energy was the little bit that touched the floor. He also said that The Flyers, which were enormous things, didn't like the taste of Men who meditated. And that after a while they would stop bothering him. I think The Flyers ARE the monstrous ideas (frequencies) that have their basis in our Systems, like Insurance and the AMA and the Legal System. These ARE Monsters and they EAT our Energy. And as Duncan says, they thrive on our emotions. FEAR is the big one. It is like STEAK to them. so they keep the 'screws on us' so we will continue to give off the Milk of Fear.

Gerry Spence (Yes, the attorney) said it well in his book on this very subject: "Give me Liberty!"

"We have become the New American Slaves. But there is a revolution coming. It is a revolution of individual liberty. It will free us without violence. It will begin with the self. It will spread to the workplace. It will turn our corporate masters into our servants. It will free us of government's tyranny. The revolution will spread to all corners of the nation, and at last, we shall be free."

But yes, Duncan, your point is well taken: we are slaves. And worse yet, anyone who has managed to stay outside of the system, even though perfectly legally, is considered a criminal, especially by his next door neighbor who if he doesn't have the guts to be free for himself, doesn't want anyone else to have it either. That is the saddest part of the tale...
